Hardware cascaded shadow mapping was implemented recently.
I hope to try soft shadows with Variable-Size Penumbra and test them in the HDR and FSAA modes.
It all works with DX9 and Shader Model 3.0.

Finally, the soft shadows with Variable-Size Penumbra were implemented but they decreased the performance dramatically. I'm not sure it's worth to add it now even for high-end graphics card.

The shadows work fine with HDR and FSAA.

what about the lights sources, it would be better to add more then just 32 light soures. for example if u have a modern car with lead tail- and head- lights the limit of 32 is a bit weak. if u ask me

the next thing is ao add more memory support as u said of a 64 bit version.

and wahta bout 4x4 driving physics for blocked diffs :D

also the tire smoke needs a bit rework. it seems it only apear when the tires have tractive grip loss but not lateral :)

I'm implementing the lights sources now. Unlimited per scene and 8 sources per object at the same time.

Per-pixel lighting was added. It looks nice but FPS is lower as usual.
Anyway should be added a choice between pixel or vertex lighting.

Added a specular map that can control specular component on the road, especially when the light source is low (daybreak, sunset, winter day etc).
