Multiplayer XMR

Postby Kahn62 » Thu Jul 11, 2013 10:17 pm

Is there anyone on the East coast of Australia, with XMR installed, who would like to try a multiplayer game of XMR. I have been trying to get a game started for a while, and now that we have a dedicated Australian server it may even work. If you are an east coast of Australia resident, and an XMR fan, let me know if you want to arrange to race at any time.

I guess that the people from New Zealand can get good ping on the Australian servers also.

The Australian servers have been closed.
If there are no Australian players there is no server.

That was going not too bad Eugene, until my brother started playing TF2 in the other room. I had a ping of 0 on my screen until then and yours came up as 30 - 40. It looked good on my end, how was it from yours? I still had trouble from following close, but you were not jumping back and forth, it just felt slippery behind you which is better than jumping. I got the permissions to work by giving permission to the folders in XMR, one at a time, then giving XMR permission then giving the containing folder, on mine XMR 1.45, it's permission. It worked after that for the first time properly. I don't know what fixed it really.

I watched you during a short period only. It looked quite playable. As to 0 ping from your machine to the server...I think there is a bottleneck between them. It uses UDP packets now which provides no guarantees. I heard several times about slippery control behind a car, but hadn't a chance to test and fix it carefully. Hope to fix it soon with my younger brother.
